How to switch between OS1 and E2 systems GI Genius

Switching between the operating systems installed on GI Genius is performed using the buttons on the front panel - VOL ▲ and VOL ▼ buttons are hidden under the front panel that opens by clicking on it in the center, then we have additional controls. Here are the steps to switch between OS1 and Enigma 2.

Boot into OS Enigma 2.
1 The receiver should be disconnected from the mains, the easiest way to do this switch on the back of the receiver.
2 Then press the switch and hold the VOL ▲

3 Expect to see "EN2" is indicated on the VFD, and then release the button and wait for it to end loading Enigma 2.

Starting in OS1 (standard system)
1 The receiver should be disconnected from the mains, the easiest way to do this switch on the back of the receiver.
2 Then press the power button and hold the VOL ▼

3 Expect to see "OS1" is indicated on the VFD, and then release the button and wait for it to load at the end the Genius system

Depending on the above steps have chosen the boot mode. Now show how GI is updated Genius "OS1" or "EN2"

Software update for OS1 (standard system)
1 To update the firmware, we need a USB flash drive formatted in FAT 32
2 Download firmware (downloaded from here)and extract it to the root of the USB flash drive
3 As a result, we have a "OS1" folder at the root of our pendrive with new firmware files.
4 Insert the USB drive into the front USB input, and after determining the system will display the menu of the receiver you will be asked whether to update the receiver software to a new version.
5 If the menu window does not appear, [/ b] restart the receiver with rear switch when the load starts and just as "OSUP" appears on the front display at this point you must press the CH ▲ button answer "YES" is displayed and then began the process of updating the firmware.
6 During the upgrade the receiver does not turn off the network, do not press the buttons on the remote control, after the upgrade the receiver will automatically reboot.

Software Update Enigma2 image (EN2)
1 To update the firmware, we need a USB flash drive formatted in FAT 32
2 download firmware (E2 image) and extract (unzip) to the root of the USB flash drive
3 As a result, we have a "to2" folder at the root of our pendrive with new firmware files.
4 Insert the USB drive into the front USB input, and turn on the receiver. when it starts loading and just as "OSUP" appears in the VFD front display, at this point you must press the CH ▲ button to confirm the load below the answer "YES" is displayed and begins process of updating the firmware ..

5. If the display does not show "OSUP" restarting the receiver means that the USB drive does not have folder "en2" in the root or the update files are corrupted, or USB drive is not compatible with your receiver. Re-download and prepare the USB drive.
6 During the upgrade the receiver does not turn off the network, do not press the buttons on the remote control, after the upgrade the receiver will automatically reboot.
